So a few Wednesday nights ago at church we were talking about different things that we've been reading in the Bible.... One of the guys (he and his wife just started attending in Nov. and were saved in the Fall revival) spoke up and said that he's been reading Song of Solomon! James and I looked at each other as if to say, "Oh my goodness, what's he gonna say?"
He started in by saying how Solomon must have been really proud of himself, and then how he was talking about the woman in there. :) Thankfully he didn't really say anything inappropriate or I really would have had to walk out, cause I was laughing so hard I was crying! Sarah, our pastor's wife said she was too, but thankfully we didn't see each other :)
Then just last night at church Jon, our pastor, was asking if anyone had a song they wanted to sing. Clif, he's a nice young man who comes on Wednesday evenings, wanted to sing "Happy Birthday to you!" We asked who's birthday it was, and he said nobody's he just wanted to sing it :) We had a little fun with that, and then ended up singing it cause he really was serious!
You never know what's going to happen when you go to church! This coming Sunday we're supposed to have a brand new couple who are not church goers at all! I'm so excited! We're praying that God will speak to their hearts and bring them back!

Cute post! Glad that that guy didn't "expound" on Song of Solomon. =) That was funny singing "Happy Birthday" just because. =)
The other day your Father-in-law told my Moma a comment to pass on to us, that really encouraged us! I'm not for sure exactly how he said it, but this is the gest of what he said.
"Please tell Phillip that when I was on the field as a young husband and Dad, a veteran missionary once told me that "the biggest part of a man's ministry on the field is to live life before the people, showing God's help to you as you face its cares."
(Here recently with all the trials we've had, those words were what we needed to hear.=)
Hope you have a great weekend in Jesus! Exciting that you have new people coming to your church!
I love it when new people and new converts start coming to church. It helps the church so much!! Is anybody discipling them? It would be a big help for someone to sit down with them even once a week to teach them the basics of Christianity.
Thanks, Heather & Eric :) I really like the "quote" Heather! Hopefully your trials are almost over for a while at least :)
Eric, good to hear from you! It is exciting to have new people in church! Our pastor is great at sitting down with people. I know that Jeri & Clark love to discuss things with him and have learned a lot. Sometimes I wish that I would have had some kind of discipleship class to go to when I was younger. I think too many times our churches just expect us to know everything the older people know.....
