Well, I had a most interesting experience Sunday afternoon! I got to help deliver a 95lb. calf! It was our heifer's first delivery and she had a really hard time! James was pulling the calf and I was pulling on her :)
It was well worth the work though! The calf and mother are doing really well and we are thankful for that! Sometimes when a mother cow has a hard delivery, she won't accept the calf, and you have to bottle feed it or tie the mother up and milk it out.
I also got to milk the mother calf on Sunday night :) That was a first for me! Baby was not able to walk very well and hadn't nursed since being born several hours before. James and I chased Mom around the pasture for a couple hours before we were able to lasso her and then James sat on her head so that I could milk her out into the bottle so we could feed baby. :) That was an experience I'll never forget :)
Jack and Jill are new additions to our family as well. We have two new puppies :) They are the most adorable things ever and we're in love! (James said he wanted them to sleep with us, but I think it would probably be a disaster.) I'm going to post pics as soon as I get them on to the computer. They're part catahoula(?), border collie, and blue heeler. Mixed up, but still adorable!!
Ok....I'll shut up for now :)

You go girl! I'm impressed, Kim! You make a great wife...willing to stand by your man and do whatever he needs you to do. =) I'm VERY glad that my babies don't weigh in at 95 lbs. HA!
Take care!
