Outlook Makeover Retreat

I just wanted to write and let you know how our retreat went this weekend. It was probably one of the best weekends I've had in a long time! God's presence was so real to all of us! From the very first service to the end, all the girls were looking forward to what God had for us.

Sonya Vernon spoke on Friday night about having a personal relationship with Jesus and knowing Him. Several girls came to the altar afterwards and were saved. Some of the girls have no church background, and some of them go to different churches, not holiness. It was wonderful to just watch God work on all of our lives.

Besides the sessions, we had several activities, one of which the girls really loved :) The picture above shows Jennifer Denny modeling the creation that her team made. Krista had made up bags of misc. material, glue guns, sequins, newspaper, foil, and all kinds of other odds and ends. Each team had 30 minutes to design something and then they had to have a model. It was sort of like a fashion show. It was a lot of fun and everyone came up with very creative ideas! Some more practical than others. :) Hopefully I'll have more pictures of the whole weekend in a few days.

The retreat ended with a concert by Brent Vernon. It had started iceing and snowing by 4:30 PM on Saturday, so several of the girls that came from OH and KY had to leave, but even with just the few of us there, God's presence was still real. Brent did a very good job, although he ended up cutting the concert short. Thanks for those of you who prayed for us this weekend. We're looking forward to what God has planned for us next year. I'll be announcing the date soon as we get it set. If you want to check out the website its www.outlookmakeover.com
